Consider returning to Norway

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs encourages all Norwegian citizens who are temporary in the United States to consider returning home as soon as possible. The situation is changing rapidly. There are fewer scheduled flights to Europe, and tickets can be more expensive than usual. Contact airlines/travel agencies for details and for assistance in planning and scheduling your trip. Also be sure to check your travel insurance.

Things to know if you’re considering returning to Norway:

  • Plan ahead.
  • Tickets may be more expensive than usual.
  • You may have to travel through several other countries.
  • You may have to book with a different airline than you planned to.
  • There are fewer flights to Europe than usual.
  • The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs advises against all international travel that is not strictly necessary. This could affect travel insurance coverage.
