Visitor’s visa and residence permit

A visitor's visa allows you to stay in Norway or other Schengen countries for up to 90 days over a period of 180 days. A residence permit gives you the opportunity to work in Norway and to stay for more than 90 days.

Citizens of Ukraine holding a biometric passport are visa free to Schengen.

Important notice 24.02.2022:

Following the development in the security situation in Ukraine, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has decided to temporarily suspend the reception of applications for visa and residence permits in Ukraine. VFS will therefore with immediate effect not receive applications for visa and residence permit to Norway from Ukraine.

Som følge av utviklingen i sikkerhetssituasjonen i Ukraina, har Utenriksdepartementet besluttet å midlertidig stenge for mottak av søknader om visum og oppholdtillatelser i Ukraina. VFS vil derfor med umiddelbar virkning ikke kunne ta imot søknader om visum og oppholdstillatelser til Norge fra Ukraina.

 

Where and how to hand in my application? 

Applications for visitor's visa and residence permit for Norway from Ukraine are handled by the Norwegian Embassy in Ankara, Türkiye. It is currently not possible to hand in applications in Ukraine as the application centers are closed.
