Frode Barth-special guest at XVII International Jazz Festival in Kyiv 16-17 March

Frode Barth is a guitarist, composer, music teacher and producer. He is known as a modern guitarist with unique sound and for his dedication to the art of improvisation.
He plays both the acoustic and electric guitar and different electronics are also in his arsenal of sound producing devices. In addition, he is also regarded to be an internationally acclaimed composer of music ranging from contemporary classical, jazz, pop/rock and film music, often with a distinct flavor of Northern ambience.

Barth is educated at Barratt Due's Music Conservatory and the Institute of Music and Theater, University of Oslo. Furthermore he has completed Master Classes in London, New York and Cuba.
He was granted the Norwegian governments working grant for musicians and has received numerous awards and scholarships as well as a Grammy for the album "Going North".

Barth has been playing with great musicians from all over the world, but perhaps most notably with legendary trumpeter Chet Baker. Barth has released 4 albums under his own name and has performed extensively at festivals as well as being a recurring presence on TV and radio shows. Barth has already had a long and distinguished musical career encompassing a wide variety of styles and roles.
