"We want to assist Ukraine also at a high level in terms of European integration. The establishment of this dialogue is a confirmation of it, "said Minister of EEA and EU Affairs of Norway Frank Bakke-Jensen

The dialogue was launched in the framework of the meeting between the Minister of EEA and EU Affairs Frank Bakke-Jensen and Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Ivanna Klympush-Tsintsadze in Oslo 28 April 2017.

Adaption to European institutions, legislation and standards is an important part of Ukraine's ongoing reform efforts and an overall objective of Norwegian aid projects for Ukraine. By establishing, a more structured dialogue on these issues enables Ukraine to get more competence and knowledge. For the EU, it is a clear message that Norwegian side increases their responsibility  to assist Ukrainian authorities in their efforts to adapt to EU legislation and standards.
"The bilateral trade between Norway and Ukraine is still relatively limited. Our hope is that this bilateral dialogue can also contribute to the increased cooperation in business, "said Bakke-Jensen.
