This week Deputy Foreign Minister Marit Berger Røsland visited Kyiv and Ukraine for the first time. She had meetings with high-ranking representatives of the Ukrainian government and Parliament, as well as international partners and humanitarian organisations.

On the first evening of her visit, Ms. Røsland visited Maidan Nezalezhnosti where the Ukrainian people rose against mismanagement and corruption during the Revolution of Dignity three years ago. In her meetings, the Deputy Minister confirmed Norway’s support for Ukrainian sovereignty and territorial integrity, and the continued Norwegian support for Ukrainian reforms. The visit also marked the 25th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Ukraine and Norway, which was celebrated at a reception in the Ambassador’s residence where the guests had the opportunity to enjoy Norwegian seafood provided by Egersund Seafood. The reception gathered many Ukrainian and Norwegian cooperation partners, as well as colleagues from the international community in Kyiv.
