Main Duties and Responsibilities:
- Understand, examine and explain current political and economic developments in Türkiye as well as core developments related to Turkish foreign policy through regular and on demand updates for Political Team
- Research and report on issues on behalf of Political Team as dictated by specific needs
- Press and media monitoring and reporting
- Keep and provide a network of analysts relevant to the Embassy work on political and economic issues.
- Advise on partners for Norwegian project funding and follow up on project agreements in cooperation with other staff
- Advise on business opportunities for Norwegian companies in Türkiye and help further contact with public and private partners relevant to Norwegian business relations in Türkiye
- Assist with organization of visits and events
- Assist with interpretations and translations when needed
- Assist with communication work when needed
Qualifications:
- The following qualifications are required:
- Fluency (written and oral) in English and Turkish.
- Higher education (B.A. equivalent or higher) in a relevant field.
- Excellent understanding of political and economic developments in Türkiye
- Good understanding of international relations
- Good knowledge of legal framework and social and cultural situation in Türkiye
- Good research and briefing skills
- Self-motivation and the ability to work under light supervision
- Strong interpersonal and team working skills
- Proficiency in computer software such as Microsoft Office and Outlook.
- Good social media skills
- The following qualifications will be an advantage:
- Familiarity with a Nordic Country through work or study
All candidates who are not Turkish citizens must have legal residency and hold a valid work permit in Türkiye.
Salary will be set based on qualifications and experience. Currency of salary payments are TRY, and a 15 % deduction to SGK will apply. Depending on nationality and residency status, income tax will be applicable to Türkiye or Norway.
