Before you apply
- You should apply not more than six months before you plan to travel. You can submit your application up to six months before your planned departure.
Applicants who wish to apply for a visa are requested to kindly read the information on this site carefully. The guidelines listed on this site are to help you prepare your documents accurately and will reduce the risks of your application being incomplete or that the procession time will be longer than necessary.
Who can apply for a visa?
Please note that only applications where Norway is the main destination of the travel may be submitted at the Visa Application Centers.
Turkish citizens and persons legally residing in Turkey
In order to apply for a visa from Turkey you must either be a citizen of Turkey or legally reside here.
Syrian citizens can apply if they have an ID-card for foreigners or a registration card for Syrian refugees from Turkish authorities.
It is the Norwegian Embassy in Amman (Jordan), which is responsible for Iraq. Therefore, persons residing in Iraq must apply at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Amman.
Only citizens of Iraq who have been living in Turkey for 6 months with residence permit can apply for visa.
Third country citizens without a residence permit in Turkey
If you are a third country citizen without a residence permit in Turkey, and still wish to apply for a visa, you must send an e-mail and justify the need to submit the application in Turkey. If the Embassy concludes that you may apply, you must bring a print out of the e-mail from the Embassy confirming the approval.
