Information for visitors at the Embassy in Bangkok the coming weeks

The embassy wants to maintain the best possible service for Norwegians in Thailand, despite the current state of emergency in Thailand.

The embassy is available by phone and email during our business hours from 09:00 to 16:00 every day, except Saturday and Sunday. However, from today, Thursday 26 March, the embassy has had to introduce some temporary changes to reduce the risk of infection for the public as well as our own staff.

We kindly ask everyone to postpone their visits to the embassy if not strictly necessary. Attendance is by appointment only (made by e-mail/phone), as we wish to enforce the requirement of 2 meters distance between visitors in the waiting room. We also ask that you come alone, if there is no need for family members to accompany.

If you are unwell and have flu-like symptoms, we ask that you don’t come to the embassy, but rather contact us by e-mail or phone and we will do our utmost to find a solution together.

If you need legalization of Thai documents or confirmation of income / residency, we ask that you send the necessary documentation by mail to the embassy's address and transfer the fee via the embassy's bank account at DNB. The documents will be returned to you by mail.

Information regarding confirmation of income / residency in connection with applying for an annual visa can be found here (in Norwegian):

Information on legalization is found here (in Norwegian): https://www.norway.no/…/…/notarius-publicus-og-legalisering/

Letters for extension of visa may be issued by e-mail.

Thank you for your co-operation and understanding!
