Kjersti Rødsmoen started her career in the Norwegian Foreign Service in 1988. Her most recent position was head of the Latin America Section at the Ministry in Oslo. Previously she has been posted twice to the Permanent Mission of Norway to the United Nations in New York and at the Norwegian Embassy in Mexico. Ambassador Rødsmoen was born in Singapore. She has a business degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Business Administration (NHH) as well as studies from Columbia University in New York and the Executive Course of the Norwegian National Defense College. The ambassador is married and has two children.
