The Global Sushi Academy

From 26-27 November, the Global Sushi Academy was organised in Bangkok by the World Sushi Skills Institute and the Norwegian Seafood Council.

Japanese ambassador Shiro Sadoshima and Norwegian ambassador Kjersti Rødsmoen attended the awards ceremony on the last day of the academy, where they congratulated the winner of the Edomae Sushi Competition Mr Puttipong Nichachai. The winner will participate in the World Cup in Tokyo in 2019.

Norwegian salmon and seafood is becoming increasingly popular in Thailand, largely because of the popularity of Japanese cuisine. Norway is today the world’s second largest seafood exporter, and in Thailand we expect to sell seafood for a record 3 billion baht or 12000 tons in 2018.
