The Royal Thai Police explained, in what was a very productive and interesting meeting, that it was working on reform efforts as part of a wider government reform package. Having dialogue with institutions in other countries could therefore be useful in this work.
Chargé d’Affaires Vegard Holmelid confirmed the willingness from the Norwegian side to look at possible avenues of cooperation in select areas were Norwegian expertise on police work could be particularly useful to the Thai side.
The Norwegian Embassy greatly appreciates this opportunity to meet with a very important institution for enforcing law and order in Thailand, and thus opening up for cooperation in the future.
On 19 February the Norwegian Embassy met with high level representatives from the Royal Thai Police. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss possible areas of bilateral project cooperation for the future.
