From now on there will be only three missions (hubs) in Africa processing applications. These are in Accra, Nairobi and Pretoria.
There has been greater focus in recent years on achieving uniform, consistent practice at the missions abroad. There has been a considerable variation in how the missions handle immigration matters and organize their work in this field. At many missions, including some that do not have a designated posted employee to deal with immigration matters and generally have limited or strained resources, there has been an increase in both the number and the complexity of cases submitted. To respond to this development and increased case volume it is necessary to strengthen the case handling capacity with appropriate resources and competency.
We are confident that the hub system will ensure greater consistency and strengthen the missions’ capacity to improve both quality and efficiency in the processing of applications.
