Are you planning to travel to Norway and need a visa or residence permit? As of the 28th of July 2019, the Norwegian Embassy in Khartoum will no longer receive applications for a Visitor’s visa/Schengen visa to Norway. If you need a Schengen visa to visit Norway you must instead apply through the services of the Swedish embassy in Khartoum (starting September 1st 2019*).The Norwegian Embassy in Khartoum will still accept certain categories of applications after 28th of July 2019:-Applications for a residence permit to Norway from Sudan -Applications for a residence permit to Norway from Eritrea.If you are applying for a residence permit from Eritrea you may choose to meet at the Norwegian Embassy in Khartoum or at the VFS Global application center in Addis Ababa. Either way, the application will be sent to the Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya, which is a regional hub for immigration cases from East-Africa.If you are applying for a Schengen visa from Eritrea you may choose to meet at a VFS Global application center working in partnership with the Norwegian Embassy in Nairobi, i.e. VFS in Addis Ababa.When submitting your application through the services of VFS Global, please note that in addition to the application fee payable online on the Application Portal Norway, you will have to pay a VFS service fee and a courier fee to cover transportation of the application documents between the visa application center and Nairobi, Kenya.
