Sri Lankan Foreign Secretary visits Norway

Norwegian Foreign Secretary Mr. Wegger Strømmen and Sri Lankan Foreign Secretary Mr. Prasad Kariyawasam.

Norway and Sri Lanka held Foreign Secretary consultations in Oslo Monday 11 December.

Mr. Prasad Kariyawasam, Secretary to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Sri Lanka was received by the Norwegian Foreign Secretary Mr. Wegger Strømmen for discussions on bilateral issues of common interest. The discussions touched upon a wide range of topics from sustainable use of ocean resources to business cooperation and regional  developments in South Asia and Europe.  Mr. Kariyawasam expressed Sri Lanka's appreciation for the assistance provided by Norway. Both sides expressed the desire to deepen and broaden the existing partnership between Norway and Sri Lanka.

 

Mr. Kariyawasam also held talks in the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Fisheries and visited the Norwegian Geotechnical Institute which provides technical cooperation to the National Building Research Organization of Sri Lanka.
