Young Strings of Norway in South Korea

This November, Norwegian youth orchestra Young Strings of Norway will be on tour in South Korea. The orchestra is joined by soloist Eivind Holtsmark Ringstad, 2012 winner of the prestigious Eurovision Young Musicians competition and recipient of the Statoil Talent scholarship.

The orchestra is led by Korean-born artistic director Soon-Mi Chung, an experienced violinist and violist with an international musical background, having been educated in Paris, Gstaad and San Francisco. Soon-Mi Chung will be leading the young orchestra, all members below the age of 20, on their visits to Gwangju, Daegu and Seoul.

In Seoul, the orchestra will meet students from Korean musical institutions, such as the Korea University of Arts, to exchange ideas, knowledge and experience of musical education. While in Seoul, Young Strings of Norway will be playing a concert in the prestigious Seoul Arts Center.
