On Monday the 31st of October, and Tuesday the 1st of November, Innovation Norway and the Norwegian Seafood Council, in collaboration with Finnish counterpart FinPro, invited Norwegian, Finnish and Korean businesses to participate in the 2016 Nordic Food and Beverage promotional event at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Seoul.
The event was aimed at Nordic companies within the food and beverage industries, interested in doing business in Korea. Several events throughout the two days enabled the Nordic companies to learn more about their relevant markets in South Korea, and about business culture in the region. On the second day of the event, the Nordic suppliers were able to meet the potential Korean buyers face to face.
The Norwegian companies present represented suppliers of products such as fish, seafood, dairy and beverages. As a part of the programme, attendees were invited to tour different Korean department stores, to get an idea of how the relevant products are marketed, presented and sold on the Korean market.
The event was attended by Norwegian Ambassador Jan Grevstad, and the Commercial Counsellor, Elin Sagbråten of Innovation Norway. Finland was represented by the Permanent Secretary to the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry in Helsinkli, Jaana Husu-Kallio, as well as Ambassador Eero Suominen were in attendance.
After an intense day of business-to-business meetings, the successful event was concluded by a standing lunch buffet at the Grand Hyatt Hotel.
