The processing time is counted from the day the application is received at the Embassy until the passport is picked up by the VFS courier in Pretoria. Therefore, please also take the extra courier/transport time between VFS Lilongwe and the Embassy into account.
Applications submitted in Malawi
Applications submitted in Lilongwe can take up to one week to be received at the Embassy in Pretoria and about 3-5 days to be received at the VFS application Centre in Lilongwe after processing.
Due to the courier time between Lilongwe to Pretoria and Pretoria to Lilongwe , applications from Malawi can take up to 21-24 working days.
Apply well in advance of your travel
The Norwegian Embassy in Pretoria recommends that you apply at least 4 weeks prior to departure. You may register and submit your application 6 months before your planned trip.
The Embassy cannot prioritize applications that are submitted less than 15 days prior to the intended travel dates.
