The Norwegian Embassy would like to extend its sincere congratulations on the international acknowledgement the company BIOPEL recently received for the project of the Biomass Logistic Centre. The competition within the Energy Globe Award takes place in 182 participating countries and is today’s most prestigious environmental award. This year the National Energy Globe Award in Slovakia was awarded to the Biomass Logistic Centre project by BIOPEL. The award was given to BIOPEL for its achievements in the use of renewable energy sources, innovative technologies and creation of new green jobs, and for raising awareness among children and youth on environmental issues.  The project was supported by the EEA and Norway grants and had two Norwegian partners (Norwegian Forestry Group and International Development Norway). The Norwegian project partners contributed to the project by offering their experience and expertise and by introducing new technologies for efficient processing of biomass and operation of the logistic centre.
