About the Embassy

Norway has cooperated with Slovakia since the establishment of the Slovak Republic on 1 January 1993. The Norwegian Embassy in Bratislava was opened in September 2004, and has 8 employees. Slovakia has an embassy in Oslo. Relations between Norway and Slovakia are good, and bilateral cooperation is growing.

The Embassy is open Monday to Friday from 8.30. until 16.00.

Slovakia became a member of the EU on 1 May 2004, and thereby also a partner of Norway in the EU internal market through the EEA Agreement.

The most important platform for cooperation between Norway and Slovakia is the EEA and Norwegian Grants. Norway contributed 70 million euros during the first five-year period 2004-2009 and 80 million euros for the period 2009-2014.  For the seven-year period 2014-2021, Norway will contribute 113 million euros.
