The goal of the collaboration is to strengthen the presence of Norwegian, Finnish, and Swedish companies in the healthcare industry in the region. As a first step, a research study was conducted to map business opportunities for healthtech companies in seven selected markets – Australia, India, Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, and Vietnam.
The health study report was presented during a webinar together with Business Finland and Business Sweden on October 26. In addition to presenting the findings of the report, four leading Nordic companies – DNV Imatis AS, Laerdal Medical, iCare and Ortivus AB – shared their experiences from operating across the region..
The report found that four key trends are currently shaping the healthcare industry in Asia Pacific and driving demand for medical devices and digital health solutions. These are (1) continued economic and population growth, (2) a changing demographic with a larger share of elderly people, (3) a rise of chronic diseases, and (4) digitalization with high internet and mobile phone penetration.
