The charity run jointly organised by the Embassies of Denmark, Finland, Sweden and Norway, attracted more than 1.600 participants from the Nordic communities including local runners and colleagues and friends across the globe, to run as many kilometres as possible to protect marine biodiversity in waters surrounding Singapore.
Together, the runners completed over 46.000 kilometres, more than one circle around the world (40.000 kilometres)! Every runner contributed on average 15 km during the seven-day run.
We can think of no better way to have marked our National Day, as well as World Environment Day on 5 June, World Oceans Day on 8 June, and Coral Triangle Day on 9 June.

Team Norway won the race with more than 18.000 kilometres, ahead of Denmark with 17.000 km. Ambassador of Norway, Ms Anita Nergaard, was one of the eager runners and with her 72 km during race week one of the top 100 runners for Team Norway.
“I am very excited by the wonderful effort by all runners for all four Nordic teams. Together we have shown the best of the Nordics for the benefit of clean and sustainable oceans, we have strengthened the friendship between Singapore and the Nordics, and we have forged stronger bonds within our communities”, said Anita when the results were announced.
Team Norway had a good mix of Norwegian and Singaporean runners and family members. The team also managed to recruit many colleagues and friends of different nationalities as well.

Team Norway's secret weapon was super strong running groups chasing km after km both in Singapore and in Norway – non-stop!
We are hugely grateful to our six terrific Norwegian sponsors, all companies' dependent on and operating within the ocean space. They were highly motivated to support Coral Triangle Center’s work for sustainable oceans and they also highlighted that they wanted to contribute to a fun and engaging event for everyone that could bring positivity, teambuilding and healthy activity to the community. Thank you, Wilhelmsen group, Steem1960 Shipbrokers, VIKING Life-saving Equipment, DNV, Equinor and Dualog for the support and participation in the run!
