In Belgrade on June 22, Forensic equipment for the analysis of the information content, dedicated to the Department of Electronic and Informational Expertise of the National Center for Criminal Forensics, was officially handed over today to the Ministry of Internal Affairs. This equipment worth about EUR 600,000 was procured within the project "Support of the Kingdom of Norway to the Ministry of the Interior of the Republic of Serbia", funded by the Kingdom of Norway. Beograd, 22. jun 2019. – Forenzička oprema za analizu informatičkog sadržaja, namenjena Odeljenju za elektronska i informatička veštačenja Nacionalnog centra za kriminalističku forenziku, svečano je predata danas Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova. Ova oprema vredna oko 600.000 evra nabavljena je u okviru projekta „Podrška Kraljevine Norveške Ministarstvu unutrašnjih poslova Republike Srbije“, koji finansira Kraljevina Norveška.

Serbian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Nebojša Stefanović thanked the Norwegian Ambassador for the Norwegian assistance to the Ministry, which amounts to some EUR 12.4 million through several different donations.

"This donation is part of a Norwegian project that lasts for two and a half years, and it involves the procurement of modern sophisticated equipment for analysing the content of mobile phones and computers. Part of the equipment will allows us to download and analyse content from a computer or phone which can significantly help fight organized crime and corruption. The Ambassador of Norway has always been helpful to the MoI and we want to continue with other projects that will help police to be more efficient," Minister Stefanović said.

Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway to Serbia Arne Sanes Bjørnstad said that the police needed resources in order to collect evidence from all modern devices used in crime.

"The environment in which we live is constantly changing, so criminals use modern technologies. Police in Serbia knows their job, but they need support to do the job even better. That is why we are very pleased that we have excellent cooperation with the Ministry of the Interior, as well as with the UNOPS which is implementing the project," Ambassador Bjørnstad said.

UNOPS Serbia Head of Office Michela Telatin said that this project provides support to the Government of Serbia in meeting the requirements of Chapter 23 and 24 of the European integration process, but also focuses on crime prevention.

Potpredsednik Vlade Republike Srbije i ministar unutrašnjih poslova Nebojša Stefanović zahvalio se norveškom ambasadoru Norveške na dosadašnjoj pomoći MUP-u, koja kroz nekoliko različitih donacija iznosi oko 12,4 miliona evra.

„Ova donacija je deo norveškog projekta koji traje već dve i po godine i koji podrazumeva nabavku savremene sofisticirane opreme za analizu sadržaja mobilnih telefona i računara. Deo opreme koju smo dobili omogućava nam da sa svakog računara ili telefona skinemo određeni sadržaj, da ga analiziramo, što može značajno da pomogne u borbi protiv organizovanog kriminala i korupcije. Ambasador Norveške je uvek bio od velike pomoći MUP-u i želimo da nastavimo i sa drugim projektima koji će pomoći da policija bude efikasnija.“, objasnio je ministar Stefanović.

Ambasador Kralјevine Norveške u Srbiji Arne Sanes Bjornstad je rekao da su policiji neophodna sredstva za rad kako bi mogla da prikupi dokaze sa svih savremenih uređaja koji se koriste u kriminalu.

„Ambijent u kojem živimo konstantno se menja, pa tako i kriminalci koriste savremene tehnologije. Policija u Srbiji zna da radi svoj posao, ali potrebna joj je podrška da bi taj posao obavila što bolјe. Zato nam je izuzetno drago da imamo odličnu saradnju sa Ministarstvom unutrašnjih poslova, kao i UNOPS-om koji sprovodi projekat“, rekao je ambasador Bjornstad.

Šefica Kancelarije Ujedinjenih nacija za projektne usluge u Srbiji Mikela Telatin izjavila je da ovaj projekat pruža podršku Vladi Srbije u ispunjenju uslova iz poglavlјa 23 i 24 u procesu pristupanja Evropskoj uniji, ali se fokusira i na prevenciju.
