Before you apply
Find out what type of residence permit you need, e.g. in connection with work, studies, family immigration or to stay in Norway as an au pair. You will find information on the different types of residence permit on UDI’s website.
In order to apply for a residence permit to Norway from the Philippines, you must either be a Filipino citizen or have had a residence permit in the Philippines for at least six months.
Applicants for residence permits must submit their applications in person to VFS Global, which is located in Manila and Cebu. Please see contact information and opening hours here.
VFS Global will forward your application to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok for further screening. The Directorate of Immigration in Norway (UDI) will process the application. You will be notified when UDI has made a decision.
Please see www.udi.no for details about regulations, procedures and case processing times.
If the applicant wants someone to act on his or her behalf in connection with the application, this person must be duly authorised to do so. Please visit the UDI website for more information and the relevant form.
Family immigration
An entry visa (D-visa) to Norway may be granted to spouses and joint children of a Norwegian resident, in connection with a family immigration application. Such visa is only granted in exceptional cases. The processing time for the application is approximately eight (8) weeks.
For more information, see UDI's website.
