Outgoing Norwegian Ambassador sets a final round of calls in PH

Outgoing Norwegian Ambassador to the Philippines Ambassador Bjørn Staurset Jahnsen extended a round of courtesy calls before his exit after four years of duty.

During his rounds, he met with Administrator Atty. Hernani Fabia of the Maritime Industry Authority (MARINA) to discuss Maritime cooperation of Norway and the Philippines. Norway and the Philippines are connected by a strong and proud maritime history. Today there are more than 25,000 Filipino seafarers on board Norwegian owned or operated vessels.

Exit call at the Department of Foreign Affairs with Foreign Secretary Manalo.

He also met with new Foreign Secretary Enrique Manalo. The Foreign Secretary extended his recognition to Ambassador Jahnsen and likewise wishes his excellency “good fortune” for his new posting in Oslo.

 

Exit call at the Malacanang Palace


Ambassador Bjørn finally met with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. for a final exit call in the Malacañang Palace. President Marcos extended his gratitude to Ambassador Jahnsen for strengthening the bilateral ties of Norway and the Philippines renewable energy, maritime co-operation and peace and reconciliation efforts.
