The Philippine government (GRP) and the National Democratic Front of the Philippines (NDFP) conclude the fourth round of negotiations on 6 April 2017 in Noordwijk in the Netherlands.

During the talks, the panels have reached agreements on issues related to ceasefire and agrarian reform. The Interim Joint Ceasefire Agreement was signed to set a conducive environment for the negotiations. The parties also firmed up their agreement on the free distribution of land as the basic principle for agrarian reform – a major component of CASER.

‘Congratulations to both parties for the developments in the fourth round of peace negotiations. This generates momentum for the process and will bring the panels closer to a final peace accord,’ says Ambassador Erik Førner.

The parties agreed to meet again for the fifth round of peace talks 26 May – 2 June 2017.

Norway has been the third-party facilitator of the peace process since 2001.
