The new chancery of the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Islamabad was officially opened with a reception at the new premises at the Serena Business Complex on 16 February 2017.

The former chancery, located in sector F-6/2, had been closed due to security concerns since the end of August 2016. In his remarks at the opening, Ambassador Tore Nedrebø stated his satisfaction at the beginning of operations at a new and more modern location, with improved working conditions as well as security. He expressed his gratitude to his staff for their perseverance in a difficult transitional period and to the Serena for their expeditious preparation of new premises. The Ambassador also said that the Embassy will stay at the Serena Business Complex only until a brand new chancery has been built in Islamabad’s diplomatic enclave, hopefully in three to four years. The building project comprises joint chanceries and residences for the embassies of Norway, Denmark and Sweden.
