The Myanmar military has seized control in Myanmar and has detained government and civilian leaders. Telecommunications have been cut in Nay Pyi Taw and Yangon, with increasing unreliability across Myanmar. There is an increased security presence and roadblocks are in place. Yangon airport is currently under military control.

We advise Norwegians in Myanmar to stay home, and contact friends and family in Norway to confirm they are safe. Avoid public gatherings, monitor media and follow advice of local authorities.
