Today, the Embassy celebrates the Norwegian Constitution Day together with the Norwegian community in Myanmar. The day is celebrated the traditional way at Ambassador Tone Tinnes’ residence, with a children’s parade, songs, games, and of course - Norwegian hotdogs and waffles!
On this day in 1814, Norway signed its first constitution. In Norway, the constitution is a crucial instrument for democracy. Reflecting the changes in our society, the constitution has been amended more than 200 times.
A special thanks to our Myanmar, Swedish, Danish and Finnish colleagues at the Nordic House in Yangon, who came out to greet us during the parade!
