The Permanent Mission of Norway in Geneva has an exciting vacancy for an administrative assistant

The Mission has a permanent staff of 30 people, including an Ambassador to the UN and other International Organizations and an Ambassador to the WTO and EFTA. The Mission has offices in the Petit-Saconnex district of Geneva.General description of the position

As an administrative assistant, you will work closely with members of the administrative team of 10 people to deliver services for the Mission.
We're looking for a person who is outgoing, flexible and service-minded, who can work well both independently and with others and thrive in a hectic environment. We expect our employees to step up and take responsibility for both small and large tasks when needed.

Work tasks
• Support the head of administration and the rest of the administrative team to deliver services to the Mission.
• Assist the Mission’s accountant in handling of the workflow
• Assist in the dialogue with Swiss authorities in administrative matters, written and verbal
• Be a resource in planning meetings, events and high-level visits, assist in the dialogue with suppliers and hired help in the Ambassadors’ residences.
• Assist with on-/off boarding of diplomatic staff, including guidance related to schools, kindergarten, health issues, housing and accommodation, customs clearance and more.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in administrative disciplines. Experience in logistics and economy is an advantage.
• Administrative experience. Preferably work experience in an international environment
• Above average IT skills, preferably Microsoft platforms
• Language requirements
o French: Fluent, oral and written (Mother tongue - C1/C2)
o English: Fluent, oral and written (B2/C1)
o Norwegian/Swedish/Danish: Knowledge is an advantage, but not a requirement

Some work outside of normal working hours may be expected, including a few weekends during the year.
Salary considered based on qualifications and experience. Applicants must have a work permit and pay taxes to Switzerland.
