This week, Norway notified its modified schedule for export subsidies for agricultural products to the WTO. At the Nairobi Ministerial Conference in 2015, members committed to eliminate their remaining scheduled export subsidy entitlements in the Nairobi Ministerial Decision on Export Competition of December 19th 2015.

In line with the Government Decision of November 17th 2017, Norway’s notification was sent to the WTO  this week and is currently being distributed to other members for consultation. This notification is an important step for Norway to adjust its WTO entitlements in the agricultural sector, and demonstrates Norway’s strong commitment to the multilateral trading system.
