Peacekeeping in Africa: Fostering Partnerships and Synergies

Tuesday 12 November 2019 at 10 AM - 1 PM, in ECOSOC Chamber, UNHQ.

The Permanent Missions of Ghana, the United Kingdom and Norway to the United Nations in New York, in collaboration with the Kofi Annan International Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAIPTC), have the honour to invite you to a conference on the theme:

Peacekeeping in Africa: Fostering Partnerships and Synergies

The main purpose of the event is to support the shared commitment to address the challenges facing peacekeeping, with a focus on the African Continent, and to build political momentum between partners to deal with emerging security threats in Africa. The meeting will provide an opportunity to deliver policy recommendations for managing peacekeeping challenges, including through UN-Africa peace and security partnerships, stronger cooperation with African regional and sub-regional security frameworks and the delivery of holistic political solutions in support of reconciliation and development.

This event has been organised in partnership with International Peace Institute (New York) and Wilton Park (UK).

Please see the attached concept note for more information.
