The Role of the Media in Shaping Public Opinion in EU and Eastern Partnership Countries; the Case of Ukraine: Challenges and Benefits of European Integration.
This is the year of the Eastern Partnership Summit. At this seminar, participants will have the opportunity to hear open and straightforward analysis of Ukrainian realities directly from media and strategic communication professionals fighting on the front lines of the country’s information war.
The seminar will feature three main topics for discussion:
- The Image of European and Eastern Partnership countries in Russian-language media: Top Three Myths in the Last Three Years;
- The Media Landscape in Ukraine – Main Challenges and Opportunities for Private Media in Supporting European Integration;
- Bilateral Benefits of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement: European Integration as a Driver of Positive Change
Presentations by Ukrainian experts as well as Estonian specialists will draw on real-world experience both to demonstrate the crucial importance of efficient, well-targeted pro-European strategic messaging to the people of Ukraine and to identify what European countries and institutions – both inside and outside the EU – can do to improve it.
The meeting is held under the Chatham House Rule.
