These are the changes that you should be aware of:
- How to apply?
Starting 1st of September 2019 and until 10th of October 2019, all applicants in Malaysia or Brunei must meet and apply in person at the VFS Global Application Center in Bangkok. The Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs is currently collaborating with VFS Global to open a Norway Visa Application Center in Kuala Lumpur during the fall of 2019, but until then all applicants are advised to meet at the following location:

Before you can hand in your application, you must register and pay your application in the Application Portal: https://selfservice.udi.no/ and book a prior appointment with VFS.
- Introduction of a service fee
In addition to the application fee payable online when you register your application in the Application Portal Norway, your application will also be subject to a service fee charged by VFS Global. The service fee is payable to VFS Global on your application day.

- Ongoing applications
Applications for Schengen visa submitted prior to 1st of September 2019 will be processed and finalized by the Danish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur.
If you have applied for a residence permit prior to 1st of September 2019, you will be notified about the decision by the Norwegian Embassy in Bangkok. If you have given someone Power of attorney to represent you in your case, the notification will be sent to the person you have authorised.
