Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Assisting with office routines and maintenance including facilitate contact with local and international suppliers and local government offices.
Driver tasks and reception duty when needed.
Administrative support for posted staff, incl. IT-support (Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Hardware incl. Smart phones).
Perform any other duties that may be assigned by the management.
The position will be a part of the administrative team in the embassy and will perform any given task. Some overtime (paid) must be expected.
The following qualifications are required:
Documented fluency (written and oral) in English.
Documented proficiency in Microsoft Office computer software.
Relevant Education, minimum bachelor’s degree.
Developed cooperation skills as well as the ability to work independently.
Ability to work well under pressure.
Valid car driving license and at least two years driving experience in Lilongwe.
The following qualifications/skills will be an advantage:
Experience from work with Embassy, international organization or public administration.
Proficiency in IT-support.
Practical knowledge of technical systems.
Good knowledge of the security, social and cultural situation in Lilongwe.
Residency within 1 hour travel time from the Embassy.
Salary will be determined according to qualifications and experience. The Embassy cover MASM executive scheme for all employees. The Embassy deducts income tax (PAYE) according to Malawi law, and transfers the deduction to the Malawi Revenue Authority. Either Nico or Old Mutual pension schemes is compulsory (Embassy contribution 14 % and employee contribution via salary deduction is 5 %).
