Today, Ambassador Grøndahl presented his credentials to H.E. President Hashim Thaçi

During the ceremony, President Thaçi warmly welcomed Ambassador Grøndahl to Kosovo and thanked him for the support of Norway given to Kosovo.

Today, September 5, 2019, Ambassador Grøndahl presented his credentials from His Majesty King Harald V to H.E. President Hashim Thaçi during a ceremony held at the President's Office in Prishtina. The official ceremony included a red carpet walk before the guard of honour and signing of the Book of Friendship.


Statement by Ambassador Jens Erik Grøndahl

"As Norway's ambassador to Kosovo, I shall work to strengthen our relations and also in the economic field. Norway strongly supports Kosovo's Euro-Atlantic integration process, which is why it will also be my mission to ensure that our project funding in Kosovo continues to focus on relevant reforms, rule of law, human rights and economic development. From my previous experience in the region, I have witnessed that the people of Kosovo are both engaged and committed to progress and stability. It is a key moment for Kosovo now as Kosovars shortly will elect their leaders and decide upon their way ahead."  


Ambassador Grøndahl's background

Ambasador Grøndahl has worked in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1997. He has experience from the Balkan countries and knows the region well. He also has a background from West Africa and South Asia regions. In addition, he has experience within the fields of management and reforms in the foreign service. His line of work has also included the utilization of economic instruments in Norwegian foreign policy and development policy.
