Visit to North of Albania

During 8-11th of April, Ambassador Per Strand Sjaastad, accompanied by Director Anjeza Alia of the Nordic Association for Trade and Business Development Albania, visited the north of Albania.

The purpose of the visit was to meet with local representatives in politics and business to learn about developments, opportunities and challenges in the region. The Ambassador discussed opportunities for enhanced cooperation, investments, creating better conditions for expanding the tourism potential and the possible role of Norway, as one of the leading maritime nations in the world, in developing the maritime sector in Albania.

The visit included Fushe-Arrez, Puka, Koplik, Shengjin, Lezha, Shkodra and Uleza Lake/Burrel.

The Ambassador underlined that "Norway and Albania has many features in common, such as being mountainous countries with a great potential for hydro-power production and tourism, as well as a long coastline with rich opportunities within the maritime sector".
