Integration of digital technologies into everyday life could support Kosovo and Albania to integrate into the European and global market, promote competitiveness and facilitate transnational exchange of digital services in the public sector.

This week, the Nordic and Baltic countries signed a ministerial declaration to ensure joint cooperation on digitalization. The goal is for the Nordic Region and the Baltic States to become one powerful digital region. A closer regional cooperation on digitalization, both in public and private sector, will contribute to increased competitiveness and support European cooperation in the field. The cooperation will promote digitalization of public services across borders, digitalization of business and affairs, and strengthen development of a digital inner marked in the region.

Digitalization could be an instigator for growth in Kosovo and Albania. The Digital North initiative further emphasizes the importance and commitment to the ICT field. Integration of digital technologies into everyday life could support Kosovo and Albania to integrate into the European and global market, promote competitiveness and facilitate transnational exchange of digital services in the public sector.

Closer transnational cooperation in digitalization aims to better the lives of citizens, increase capacity to deal with climate change as well as other environmental challenges and to make businesses – both public and private – more innovative and competitive in order to promote sustainable economic development.
