The receiving of visa and residence applications have been outsourced to the VFS, but the Embassy processes the cases. Some of the Visa section’s tasks are registration of visas and residence cases, interviewing applicants, DNA testing of applicants, handling queries from applicants, ID control, filing and archiving and much more.
We are looking for a candidate who understand the requirement for confidentiality and discretion that the work requires. The candidate must also show initiative and quickly gain sufficient knowledge of the Schengen regulation and work instructions.
These different tasks need to be handled with care and accuracy.
- Higher education (university level)
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Knowledge of either Swahili, French or other African languages valuable to the Hub
- Good computer skills
- Service minded
- Have work permit in Kenya
- Previous experience from similar work is a benefit
We are looking for a colleague who is a good team worker, but who is also independent. The candidate must show initiative and be eager to learn the immigration regulations for Norway and for the Schengen area.
The Visa officer may, when needed, be required to perform other duties at the Embassy.
