The Norwegian Embassy is proud to support the Defenders Coalition who, together with the Working Group on Human Rights Defenders, are organising the 2020 Human Rights Defenders Awards to publicly acknowledge the important work that HRDs accomplish in Kenya. The event itself will take place on 27 November, but the call for nominations is out now, and running until 15 August. If you know someone who has made a special effort towards promoting and protecting human rights, now is the time to nominate them!
There are three categories for the awards:
- The Munir Mazrui lifetime achievement award
- The HRD of the year award
- Young and upcoming HRD award
We need your help to nominate a HRD and in raising awareness around the HRD awards so that we can reach as many HRDs as possible and recognise all the important human rights work being done in Kenya. The deadline for nominations is 15 August 2020 at 23:59.
