The International Ibsen Scholarships 2019

Performing art projects that contribute to a critical discourse on existential or societal related matters are eligible. Apply before 30 April 2019.

The International Ibsen Award and Ibsen Scholarships were initiated by the Norwegian government in 2007. The International Ibsen Award honours an individual, institution or organization that has brought a new artistic dimension to the world of drama or theatre. The award is presented every other year at the National Theatre in Oslo.

Ibsen Scholarships are awarded every other year as part of the Skien International Ibsen Conference. The scholarships can go to a person, organization or institution. Scholarships are awarded innovative projects in the field of drama and performing arts, and projects that act as incentives for critical discourse in regards to existential and society-related subject matters concerning Henrik Ibsen.

The scholarship program amounts to a total of 2 Million NOK, where theatre performances from all over the world are eligible to apply. The deadline for applications for the scholarships is 30 April 2019.
