The UN Sustainable Development Goals calls for halting deforestation by 2020. The climate agreement in Paris aims to limit global temperature increase to well below 2 °C, and establishes that tropical forests will be key to reaching that goal.
This year Oslo REDD Exchange 14-15 June will bring together close to 500 REDD+ policy makers and practitioners. The conference is an exchange of perspectives, experiences and forward-looking ideas. The conference will present results from REDD+ globally, with the aim of promoting successful implementation.
Participants will discuss topics of key importance for reducing emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in developing countries. Previous REDD Exchange conferences were held in 2011 and 2013.
