The delegation highlighted the increasing interest in India in the energy and ocean sectors. Especially on Hydrogen, Team Norway (TN) representatives at the event, Mumbai Consul General Arne Jan Flølo and Cristian Valdes Carter, Commercial Counsellor and Head of Innovation Norway (India), urged the business community to look at TN as a useful tool and facilitator for Norwegian businesses to explore the Indian market, make connections and engage in a dialogue with the relevant authorities. The Indian government’s plans on increased Hydrogen usage through the National Hydrogen Mission were also highlighted. The session also saw encouraging participation from the Hydrogen Council.
The Norway-India Chamber of Commerce (NICCI) also played a key role in ensuring relevant participation at the event.
Team Norway in India’s participation concluded with a session on the broader topic of Norway’s position for cooperation in the future with India as the world’s next biggest economy, with an impressive line up of speakers including State Secretaries, Lars Andreas Lunde (NFD) and Jens Frølich Holte (MFA), Arne Jan Flølo (Consul General in Mumbai), Erik Solheim (Chief mentor Global Alliance for a Sustainable Planet), Karen Landmark (Greenstat), Stina Torjesen (University of Agder), Fridtjof Unander (Research Counsil of Norway).
There are tremendous opportunities within business, research and high education, and Team Norway looks forward to working with stakeholders on these key areas.
An inspiring week was concluded with a meeting with the Indian Ambassador to Norway, H.E. Dr. Bala Bhaskar, where the parties discussed enhancing cooperation between Norway and India in the field of trade and industry.
