About Bjorn Torske

Torske is undoubtedly one of the most phenomenal DJs and producers from Norway who had a significant hand in shaping the Norwegian electronic music scene. He started as a DJ at a local radio station in 1987 and has been involved with making music ever since then.

Between 1992 and 1994 he joined Norwegian ambient/techno producer Geir Jenssen as a keyboard player on tour with the Biosphere project. Gigs were played both in Norway and around Europe, in countries like Belgium, Switzerland, Netherlands and the UK. From 1992 onwards he had settled in Bergen, and immediately got engaged as a DJ in several clubs doing weekly house, techno and disco parties. He was also involved in arranging some larger one-off events as part of Logic Productions.

In 1998 he released his first album under his own name, "Nedi Myra" which came out on English label Ferox Records, and got a good reception, especially in Norway. This was followed by a series of different single and 12" releases, both on legendary SVEK Records and local busyboy Mikal Telle's Tellé Records. The latter was also responsible for releasing Torske's next album - entitled "Trøbbel" (2001).

Further through the years and up until now, Torske continues delivering remixes to a variety of artists and projects, in addition to his own releases - mainly on Smalltown Supersound where he has so far released 3 12" EPs and two full length albums.
