More VFS centers in India have reopened for applicants during the last few weeks. We are still not able to handle applications from our other countries due to current restrictions preventing VFS from sending passports to India. Furthermore, we are still not able to issue Schengen visas other than in exceptional cases. We are, however, handling entry visas and interviews of applicants for study permits. We are currently updating the information about visitor’s visas and residence permits on the Embassy’s web page.
Residence permit applications
The VFS visa application centres in Delhi, Chennai, Kochi, Kolkata, Mumbai, Hyderabad and Bangalore are open for submissions of applications for residence permits to Norway.
From among the region, Colombo and Kathmandu VFS centres have re-opened for residence permit applications. Since the flight ban is still in place between Bhutan-India, we are unable to accept applications from that centre.
Please note that it is mandatory to book an appointment.
Temporary suspension of visa representation agreements
In order to minimize the spread of the Covid-19 virus, the Norwegian government has decided to suspend all agreements of representation. The Norwegian Embassy in Delhi will therefore not issue Schengen visas to Denmark, Finland, Sweden or Iceland. Persons that already have been issued a Schengen visa by our Embassy to go to these countries, must contact Danish, Finnish, Swedish or Icelandic authorities to know if travel is possible.
