Literature season at Jaipur is approaching!

Last night marked the Delhi curtain raiser of the ZEE Jaipur Literature festival (JLF) which is to be held from 24- 27 January 2019 at the Diggi Palace, Jaipur. It also was the curtain raiser for the Jaipur Bookmark, JLF’s flagship business-to-business event, which will be held at the same venue from 23-26 January 2019, where Norway will be ‘Country Partner’. We are also a proud partner under the theme ‘Nordic lights’ at JLF together with the Embassies of Iceland, Sweden, Denmark and Finland at the festival.

Yesterday’s preview included an interesting session entitled “The First Draft of History: The Perils of Journalism”  and gave a good glance into the wonderful sessions lined up at Jaipur. We can also proudly reveal that three renowned Norwegian authors will be among the attendees to the festival- Hanne Ørstavik, Maja Lunde and Åsne Seierstad, all with great success both in Norway and abroad.

We will also be joined by the Director of NORLA – Norwegian Literature Abroad, Margit Walsø, who will speak about Norwegian literature internationally, and also Norway’s participation as Guest of Honour Country at the Frankfurter Buchmesse - Frankfurt Book Fair 2019.

The 12th edition of JLF brings together stakeholders of the book trade from across the world – publishers, literary agents, writers, translators, translation agencies and book sellers to engage in captivating talks and events over three full days.
