The visual medium is a powerful art form. It inspires, aspires and educates the viewer. Continuing with our endeavors to present key learnings and outcomes of Norway’s engagements with India, The Embassy is filming a documentary on the Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI).
The Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI), an agreement signed in 2006, between then Prime Ministers of Norway and India supports India in reducing the maternal and child mortality rates of the country. For more information, visit www.nipi.org.in
The decade long collaboration of innovative healthcare interventions delivered scientifically proven, evidence based successful results contributing to reducing maternal and child deaths in India. Many of the programs are recommended for scale up, countrywide. Today, NIPI is seen as a textbook example of development cooperation.
The film is an ode to this unique partnership between both countries. It presents real life stories of families in India, who have benefitted from the various programs under the initiative. Largely shot in the districts of Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, the documentary will be released in the coming weeks.
Here we present to you a glimpse of the filming in progress. We will soon update more information on the release date.
The documentary was commission by the Royal Norwegian Embassy, New Delhi and created by Green Bamboo Pictures, New Delhi.
