The Norwegian film, The Wave, which is the first disaster movie made in Norway and Scandinavia, will be screened in Delhi next week. The film was a No.1 box office smash in Norway, where it became the most successful movie of the year 2015.

The plot evolves as the mountain pass above the scenic, narrow Norwegian fjord Geiranger collapses and creates an 85-meter high tsunami. A geologist is one of those caught in the middle of the action. What makes the story even more exciting is that it is based on a true story. The mountain has collapsed before, and it will happen again. There is a crack in the mountainside by fjord, and it keeps expanding every year. One day it will cause a landslide into the fjord.

The Wave will be screened at the first Nordic-Baltic film festival, which will take place every evening between the 13th to 18th November at the India Habitat Centre. The festival is a collaboration between the Nordic and Baltic Embassies in India and the Habitat Film Club at the Habitat World, India Habitat Centre. The film is locally distributed in India by Picture Works.
