Carrot and stick to scale-down greenhouse gases

Recently, a team from the Council on Energy, Environment and Water in India went on a study tour to Norway where the aim was to learn from Norwegian regulations and systems for phasing down HFCs. Here the visiting delegation are enjoying a lighter moment at Oslo's Christmas Market.

The Ozon-destroying gas CFC was banned from keeping our fridges cold, but the alternative which in use is also damaging the atmosphere. India and Norway are researching how to phase-down these hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) through incentives and regulatory approaches.
