Call for proposals: Women's rights and gender equality

The Norwegian Embassy in New Delhi invites grant applications from women’s rights and gender equality organizations in India. The grant will be for up to 3 years, subject to Norwegian parliamentary approval, starting 2018, and will cover costs related to programming and thematic work. Funds will not be provided for physical infrastructure and corpus building.

The Sustainable Development Goals put gender equality at the heart of the international agenda, and in 2016 the Norwegian Government launched a new Action Plan for Women’s Rights and Gender Equality in Foreign Development Policy 2016-2020 .

The overall aim of the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ and the Embassy’s support to Women’s rights and Gender Equality  is to contribute to the economic and political rights of women, influence and participation in society, the absence of violence towards women and children, and women’s rights to safe sexual and reproductive health.

Projects geared towards ensuring full economic rights for women and equal access and opportunities in the labor market will be given priority.

Proposals that also address cross-cutting issues such as the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG), fundamental human rights, women’s rights/gender parity, anti-corruption/good governance and/or has environmental protection components, are encouraged.

Request grant amount may be up to 2 million NOK per year for up to 3 years.

Project proposals from India-based organizations will be given priority in this call. Proposals to organize conferences or meetings without a comprehensive approach or concrete output are not likely to receive financing.

 

About the application to the Embassy:

The application should only include the following mandatory attachments:

1. Detailed budget

2. Complete result framework

3. A copy of the organization’s proof of registration as a NGO and certification to receive funds under Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act, 2010, Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Rules, 2011.

4. Copy of the organization’s Audit and Financial Statement for the last 2 years.

Attachments besides the above mentioned should not be submitted.

The application must be submitted (signed and printed) to the Embassy in the attached format along with the attachments. E-mail applications will not be considered. The envelope should say ‘Application for Gender project - 2018'.
