At the recently concluded railway beautification project, ‘Hamara Station Hamari Shaan’ (Our Station, Our Pride) Jotun India joined hands with Mumbai First and Making A Difference (M.A.D) foundation which gave 35 Mumbai suburban railway stations a makeover during October 2016.

This initiative is a 100% volunteer driven initiative that encourages people to perform an act of generosity on their own accord. The mammoth task of refashioning the stations involved cleaning, painting and beautifying the entire railway station premises, including the stairways, foot over bridges (FOBs), booking windows and the area adjoining entrances.

A few handpicked designers and artists lent a creative hand to fill up empty spaces with their imagination. The murals and artwork at each station depicts a unique theme inspired from the culture, heritage, and popular spots in that suburban district. Jotun India took up this unparalleled opportunity to partner in this cause by supplying close to 6000 litres of paints.

It is great to see such collaborations and Royal Norwegian Consulate General Mumbai look forward to see more similar initiatives where business meets culture and makes a difference.
